A turn of phrase. A well-placed pun. Alliteration and parallel construction. That's the realm this Princess of Prose loves to dabble in. After 20 years under her belt as a copywriter and creative director, D.D. is certain you can't bore anybody into reading anything.

Personal, friendly and easily understood communication is her forte. Tours of duty include Senior Writer stints with local ad agencies such as McCann-Erickson/Phoenix, Lavidge Baumayr, The Martz Agency, E.B. Lane Advertising & PR and McMurry Ad Group, the last where she served as Creative Director and Vice President, General Manager. Most recently, D.D. was National Director of Marketing for High-Tech Institute, Inc., a private, post-secondary career college group with 17 schools in 12 states, and Manager of Marketing and Communications for the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement at ASU.

D.D.'s account experience includes everything from healthcare and hospitality to homebuilding and high-tech. Clients she's written for include The Downtown Phoenix Partnership/Copper Square, Scottsdale Healthcare and John C. Lincoln Health Network, Doubletree, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels, Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University and Apollo College, Del Webb, T.W. Lewis and Richmond-American Homes, The Stone Canyon, Pine Canyon and Quintero Golf Clubs, Lajitas - The Ultimate Hideaway and SunCor.

During her career, D.D. has shown a long history of support for the advertising industry and the local community. She currently teaches advertising courses as an adjunct faculty member of The Art Institute of Phoenix and is Vice President of Communications for the American Marketing Association - Phoenix Chapter. From November 2006-March 2009 she also was managing editor of Southwest Graphics magazine, reinventing the printing trade publication into a professional journal for the advertising/design/marketing industry.

D.D. is at home in any medium, whether it's print, broadcast, outdoor, direct mail or interactive. And while her entrepreneurial side loves the business of “the business,” her first love is writing copy that entertains, inspires and motivates readers to act. In short, crafting compelling copy that goes from prosaic to powerful, promptly.
